99% mortgages: The pros, cons and some alternatives

Yorkshire Building Society’s product is for first-time buyers who have at least £5,000 deposit to put down on a property up to the value of £500,000. The product comes with no fee and the interest rate of 5.99% is fixed for five years.

Variable rate mortgages: What are they and is it worth getting one?

This will come in the form of a set rate – for example 1.5% – plus base rate. So, with base rate currently at 5.25% this will mean a borrower would pay 6.75%.
What mortgage is better? A two- or five-year fixed rate?
