They removed all the displays except three decrepit airframes. My guess is they moved everything to the new museum off-post, which isn't open yet (Sept '24). Very disappointed. And there's nothing o… Full review by Ed O

Our insurance ( Allstate ) covers rental cars but it is not stated on the insurance card identification. Will the rental car company provide this along with proof of a valid registration? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

There are no scheduled tours, but there are two very good museums you can visit for free. Take the exit off I-14 towards the main gate (called TJ Mills gate). Stay in the far right lane. The Visitors Center is off to the right (after you go under an over-pass). The Visitors Center is called the Marvin Leath Visitors Center (Phone: (254) 287-9909. Park and walk into the Visitor’s Center. Take a number and have a seat in the waiting area. (Usually a 30 minute wait.) One your number is called, show your driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance. (Also, know your license plate number.) When they ask the purpose of your visit, tell them to visit the two museums on-post. They will issue a Temporary Pass. Ask for a map of the post. Now drive down to the main gate. The guard will stop your vehicle and look at your driver license(s) for all occupants in the vehicle and your Temporary Pass. After you clear the gate, you are free to drive around the post. You’ll want to visit the 1st Cavalry Museum and the 3rd Cavalry Regiment Museum. 1st Cavalry Division Museum - 2218 Headquarters Ave – Phone: (254) 287-3626 3rd Cavalry Regiment Museum - 761 Tank Battalion – Phone: (254) 287-8811 Hours of Operation for both museums: Saturday#TAB#10AM–4PM Sunday#TAB#12 Noon–4PM Monday#TAB#9AM–4PM Tuesday#TAB#9AM–4PM Wednesday#TAB#9AM–4PM Thursday#TAB#9AM–4PM Friday#TAB#9AM–4PM
