David Schwimmer, MD, is a gastroenterologist with Tampa General Hospital Digestive Health Center, formerly Gastro Group of the Palm Beaches, with both a professional and personal interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). He is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. Dr. Schwimmer received his Bachelor of Science in cellular and molecular biology, with honors, from the University of Michigan, and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern - Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX, and trained for his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Florida - Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. Dr. Schwimmer is an active member of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Gastroenterological Association.
