Minnesota House Democrats have returned to the state Capitol after reaching a power-sharing agreement with Republicans, ending a stalemate that prevented the chamber from conducting business for more than three weeks.

Late last month, the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled that 68 members need to be present to meet quorum. Republicans had argued the quorum threshold is lower due to the vacancy, changing the denominator from 134 seats to 133 seats.

Minnesota House Democrats raised three times as much money as House Republicans in 2024, according to the latest batch of data from the Minnesota Campaign Finance Board. And it still wasn’t enough to keep their trifecta this past November.
