What are Progresso soup drops?
On January 16, Progresso announced a new product just in time for National Soup Month—soup drops. Seemingly a play on “cough drops,” they are essentially individually wrapped candies that taste like soup rather than anything sweet.

Each Soup Drop is individually wrapped and comes packaged in a can resembling the blue Progresso Soup can. The drops are a convenient solution, makers say, for enjoying the cozy taste of soup whether you’re running errands, sitting at the doctor’s office, or simply hiding under the covers.

I had to check the date when reading this press release from General Mills to ensure that it wasn't April 1st. It is not April Fools Day, and Progresso Soup Drops are an actual product. The chicken soup-flavored hard candy drops come in an ersatz soup can with the tagline "Soup You Can Suck On.
