Legendary West Virginia quarterback Pat White is returning to WVU as the assistant quarterbacks coach/assistant to the head coach under Rich Rodriguez, the program announced Wednesday. White played for Rodriguez from 2005-07 during a legendary three-year run for the Mountaineers and was most recently an offensive assistant for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2022 and 2023.

Former West Virginia quarterback Pat White will return to the Mountaineers as assistant quarterbacks coach and assistant to the head coach.

From 2004 to 2008, one name carried an entire college football program: West Virginia's Pat White. A two-time Big East Offensive Player of the Year and three-time member of the first-team All-Big East, White led the Mountaineers to national prominence.

West Virginia University football coach Rich Rodriguez’s staff continues to grow just months after returning to the program.

"It's really special to welcome Pat White back to Morgantown as a member of our football coaching staff," Rich Rodriguez said.

West Virginia University Football Coach Rich Rodriguez has announced that former Mountaineer standout Pat White will return to his alma mater as the assistant quarterbacks coach/assistant to the
