With Deontae Lawson, Nikhai Hill-Green and Justin Jefferson all gone, Alabama has found its first answer to fill its linebacker room in 2026.
As of midday Tuesday, Jan. 6, Alabama has had 19 players who have, reportedly, entered the transfer portal. The Crimson Tide has added two players via the portal this cycle: former Oklahoma State tight end Josh Ford and former NC State running back Hollywood Smothers.
Michigan transfer Kaden Strayhorn is visiting Alabama on Monday, he posted to social media. “I will be at the University of Alabama tomorrow,” Strayhorn posted to X. Strayhorn was listed at 6-foot-2, 308 pounds during his freshman season at Michigan.

Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard has officially declared for the 2026 NFL draft following two seasons with the Crimson Tide.
Alabama has picked up a transfer commitment from an offensive lineman who played for Michigan as a true freshman. Kaden Strayhorn, who signed with the Wolverines out of the class of 2025, has pledged to the Crimson Tide. He revealed the news to On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Tuesday evening.
