Coach Taylor Jenkins said Friday that he hoped Morant and forward Santi Aldama — who also missed Friday's game with an illness — would be able to return Saturday.

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant was added to the injury report on Friday morning. Morant is questionable to play against the New Orleans Pelicans due to an illness. Morant has missed 18 games this season while dealing with a string of injuries. The 18 missed games led to Morant being ineligible for All-NBA and other regular season awards.

New Orleans comes to town on the heels of a 123-119 overtime victory against Utah Monday night. CJ McCollum poured in 45 in the win. The Pelicans were to play Wednesday at home against Milwaukee…but got snowed out. Memphis has won five straight following Wednesday night’s 132-120 win against Charlotte.
