Shortly after the release of Despicable Me 4, Universal and Illumination announced Minions 3 is in the works. The film is set to be released in cinemas in summer 2026.

So far, Universal and Illumination haven't confirmed a Despicable Me 5, but the spin-off series will continue with Minions 3, also scheduled for July 1, 2026, Shrek 5's original release date.

Despicable Me 5 may take a while to come to screens, but the franchise has won over the audience since its inception. It started in 2010 with a film that introduced minions to the world.
