“While walking away, (the suspect) suddenly swung with right hand at the side view mirror of a City of Boston Trash Truck owned by the Department of Parks and Recreation,” the police report states. “This malicious destruction of government property was observed by Officer and Employee who was sitting inside the vehicle.”

Nineteen people were either arrested or given court summons at Sunday's St. Patrick's Day parade, according to BPD and MBTA Transit Police.

The South Boston Allied War Veterans Council, which runs the parade, said Monday they could not confirm what department the firefighters represented.
