A drunk driver will spend more than a decade in prison for a hit-and-run crash that left a 73-year-old woman dead in Chandler in 2023.

A driver was killed Tuesday morning in a crash on the Edens Expressway, which left a massive hole in the car's windshield above the driver's seat, and not much other damage.

Chandler police responded to the single-vehicle rollover crash just after 2:30 a.m. on Gilbert Road near Doral Drive, which is just north of Hunt Highway. Police said the driver was heading south on Gilbert Road north of Doral when the vehicle drove off the road and crashed into a tree.
