The NWS issued a flood watch for central North Carolina, including Raleigh, due to heavy rain from Tropical Storm Chantal.

Parts of the Piedmont Triad and central North Carolina saw heavy rainfall and flooding after the remnants of Tropical Storm Chantal passed through the region. Flood warnings continue for the Haw River at Haw River until Tuesday morning,

The storm flooded roads, downed trees and stranded residents across the central part of the state. It is headed northeast toward Washington, D.C., and Maryland.
