Three major parties are fielding candidates nationwide: Liberal Party of Canada: Founded in 1867, the Liberal Party is Canada’s oldest active political party. It traditionally occupies the center to center-left on the political spectrum, advocating for social liberalism, multiculturalism, and a mixed economy.

Prime Minister Mark Carney’s Liberal Party still appears poised to win, pollsters say, even as its lead over the Conservative Party has shrunk.
