A statewide manhunt continues for a man accused of shooting a sheriff's deputy in southern Indiana. Indiana State Police hosted a news conference Saturday morning where they painted a clearer picture of the events that have transpired so far in the investigation.

The man accused of shooting an Orange County, Indiana deputy sheriff Friday has been shot and killed by law enforcement in Louisville.

The officers, all of whom are members of LMPD's Criminal Interdiction Unit, are Detectives Benjamin Derby, Jan Dykes, Robert Ross and Joshua Trumbo. According to the officers' disciplinary histories released by LMPD, Ross and Trumbo have each faced short suspensions for their conduct during separate incidents in 2018.

According to Indiana State Police Seargent Matt Ames, there is large police presence in New Albany, In, Friday night. Ames confirmed with WTWO that the large police presence is connected to the man suspected of shooting a sheriff’s deputy in Orange County earlier Friday morning.
