Drivers heading to Downtown D.C. next week should prepare for widespread road closures around Trump’s inauguration and events tied into the transition of power. Here’s what you need to know.

As Washington, DC, prepares for President-elect Donald Trump’s second inauguration, the capital is in store for many road closures and traffic disruptions. Mayor Muriel Bowser’s office announced an extensive list of the closures in the downtown and Cathedral Heights areas this weekend in a press release Monday.

For those who prefer to travel by car, some major roads are open, except near the convention center. D.C. Police told 7News K Street NW will remain open, and further north drivers can get from K Street NW, the easier travel should be on Sunday and Monday.
