Tomkins was called up from AHL Syracuse on Thursday, per Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site. Tomkins was recalled as Andrei Vasilevskiy (illness) will be a game-time decision versus LA on Thursday.
Victor Hedman was named captain of Team Sweden for the 4 Nations Face-Off on Thursday. The 34-year-old defenseman is in his first season as captain of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
