Gov. Spencer Cox’s latest executive order states HB267 referendum will be a part of the 2026 general election.

HB267 prevents public unions from collective bargaining, the process where unions meet with employers to negotiate a contract or terms of employment.

A vote on whether to repeal a law banning public employee unions from negotiating contracts with their government employers won’t be on the ballot until Nov. 3, 2026, Gov. Spencer Cox announced Monday.
