Former North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum is due before a Senate committee as lawmakers consider the Republican’s nomination to be chief steward of U.S. public lands.

Many of Trump's Cabinet picks have met with senators individually. Now, they will go before the committees overseeing the agencies that Trump wants them to run.

President-elect Donald Trump's picks for the Treasury, Housing and Urban Development and Interior departments, along with the Environmental Protection Agency, went before lawmakers on Thursday. Among them included former presidential candidate Doug Burgum and billionaire Trump donor Scott Bessent.
