Kirkman, who acknowledged that he’s a massive fan of the early era of Image, said it would have been a thrill for him to spotlight those characters within the Invincible TV series.

Developed for Prime Video by Kirkman, Invincible follows Mark Grayson (voiced by Steven Yeun), a 19-year-old who inherits his father’s superpowers and tries to become Earth’s greatest defender.

The show, which is based on the popular comics by Robert Kirkman, will conclude in 2022 after 11 seasons. But some of its characters will live on in a new spinoff series.

Robert Kirkman’s Next Adventure: Oblivion Song Mr. Kirkman, the creative force of The Walking Dead comic book series, and Lorenzo De Felici dive deep into sci-fi with this new series, due in March.

Comic book fans will appreciate that Season 3 will introduce Mark’s new black-and-blue suit, which is both a major color and tone shift for the character, according to Kirkman.
