The Odisha government suspended a police officer who allegedly kicked, slapped and sexually assaulted a serving army officer's fiance woman accompanying an army officer. The duo had visited the police station to lodge a complaint of a road rage.

Bhubaneswar: Taking suo-motu cognisance of the alleged sexual assault of a fiancé of an army officer in Bharatpur police station, the Odisha State Commission for Women (SCW) on Friday started an investigation into the incident.

The former CM, the leader of opposition in the assembly, condemned the incident and termed it as “very shocking”.
