South Korea's transport ministry has extended special inspections of all 101 of the Boeing 737-800 jets run by the country's airlines by a week, after the worst aviation disaster on the country's soil,

Accident investigators are trying to find the cause of a Jeju Air fatal crash landing that killed 179 of the 181 on board the flight.

Investigators appear to be focusing on reports of a bird strike and a possible landing-gear malfunction on the older Boeing airliner.

Shares of Boeing fell in early trading on Monday, one day after a Boeing model 737-800 was involved in the Jeju Air plane crash in South Korea that killed scores of passengers.
