Donald Trump has proposed huge levies on Brazil, prompting an outspoken response from the CEO of Embraer, which builds vital regional airliners.

The research center said its survey also found a "marked departure" from the results of a 2023 survey, with more people seeing China as the world's leading economic power. A median of 41 percent saw China as the top economy, compared with a 39 percent median who named the United States.

China is named as a top ally in sub-Saharan African and Latin American countries surveyed, but considered a top threat in the Asia-Pacific region.

The suction caissons – developed under the Made in China 2025 project – will be used to secure deep-sea oil platforms in Brazil.
