The American tourist accused of throwing her newborn out a second-story window of a Paris hotel, killing the infant, has been identified as an 18-year-old Oregon woman who was  traveling with a $43,000-a-year gap year agency,

An 18-year-old American woman was detained in Paris after she allegedly tossed a newborn out of a hotel window, leading to the child's death, reports say.

The young woman was on a European trip with a Massachusetts-based organization called EF Gap Year when she allegedly threw the newborn from a second-floor window of a hotel.
