Around 2:20 p.m. on Monday, a brush fire broke out at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, releasing smoke into the sky that was visible on neighboring highways and as far south as North Park. Water was being drawn from neighboring reservoirs by firefighting aircraft from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department and the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department in order to extinguish the fire.
