The United Auto Workers (UAW) is once again rattling the cages of automakers, threatening potential work stoppages that could cause major issues in industry.

United Auto Workers union says it may go on strike against Stellantis as its disputes with the automaker intensify.

More than a year has passed since the contract deadline for the local agreement between the Dearborn automaker and the unit of more than 500 workers.

United Auto Workers union President Shawn Fain said Tuesday the union plans to hold strike authorization votes against Stellantis because the automaker is failing to live up to guarantees it made in the 2023 labor deal it reached with the union at the conclusion of a six-week strike.
