A three-member judicial commission constituted to investigate the tragic stampede that occurred on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya during the Maha Kumbh, has arrived in Prayagraj to investigate the incident that occurred on 29 January.

The fire was reported in Sector-22 of the Maha Kumbh district near Chatnag Ghat. The devotees are reported safe and evacuated from the site of the fire.

Authorities worked in close coordination with police forces from these districts to regulate the movement of devotees, particularly around the heavily congested tent city and parking areas within 5 kilometers of the mela zone.
