Haason Reddick has broken his silence amid his ongoing holdout from the New York Jets while awaiting a new contract and speculation about a potential

NFL season is already two weeks in the rearview, which means we’ve got a much better grasp of who the contenders and the pretenders are. Injuries have sadly hit many NFL teams, opening the avenue for various contenders to consider trading draft assets to help bolster their rosters for the short term.

The Jets acquired Reddick from the Philadelphia Eagles in April for a conditional 2026 third-round pick. The draft choice would become a second-round pick if Reddick played 67.5 percent of snaps this season and accumulated at least 10 sacks. Both are looking increasingly unlikely.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, execs around the league believe the Jets are going to have to trade Reddick at some point. After the Jets and Reddick failed to come close to an agreement, he requested a trade in August. Soon after that report, New York general manager Joe Douglas released a statement essentially denying the request.

The New York Jets are one of the few teams to have one with edge rusher Haason Reddick. The Philadelphia Eagles dealt Reddick to the Jets at the beginning of April for a conditional 2026 third-round pick rather than address his growing dissatisfaction with his contract.
