According to the manufacturer, Aviation Industry Corporation of China, the J-20S is the first and only model of a twin-seat stealth combat aircraft in the world. It is a variant of the J-20, China's first stealth fighter jet comparable to the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor.

The developer said the J-35A was like a basketball point guard. The US often refers to the F-35 in sports terminology, calling it the quarterback.

On Tuesday, China unveiled the J-35A at its biggest civil and military air show in the southern Greater Bay city of Zhuhai. The fifth-generation stealth jet, which has been described as a ‘medium-sized stealth multi-purpose fighter’ resembles the Lockheed Martin F-35A.
