Mel Owens, a former NFL player and ABC's new "Golden Bachelor," said in an interview that he would cut any women age 60 or older from the lineup.

"Mel Owens is OUT as the Golden Bachelor due to recent negative publicity surrounding his June 4th podcast appearance," Reality Steve wrote on Twitter. "Expect an announcement soon incl who is going to replace him. Haven’t heard a name yet on who that is. Will update if/when I hear."

The former NFL player turned lawyer, appeared on the “In the Trenches” podcast and said he his preference is for women 45 to 60 years old.
