NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center in its Sunday night update has maintained a Level 3 out of 5 (or enhanced) risk for severe weather for all of north and part of central Alabama tonight and into Monday morning (areas in orange in the map at the top of this post).
The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Lauderdale and Colbert Counties until 6 a.m. Any storm that can move into northwest Alabama overnight will be in a favorable environment for damaging winds,
The Storm Prediction Center is highlighting a significant threat for severe storms northwest of Alabama today. A rare high risk (pink) -threat level 5 out of 5 - has been issued for eastern Arkansas,
The possibility of severe weather remains in the forecast for Alabama both on Sunday and Monday. Tornadoes, damaging winds, hail and heavy rain will all be possible on both days, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters added that the tornado threat is uncertain, but there is the potential for it to increase.

Weather disasters outside of the traditional "Tornado Alley" are driving residents in emerging threat zones to invest in tornado shelters, according to weather preparedness advocates and those in the private business sector.
The footage below, shot by Kristin David, shows the suspected tornado touching down next to a small neighborhood. There have been reports of wind damage with trees and power lines
"TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building," the tornado warning said. "Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris."
