The M5 MacBook Pro is important, and not just because of its power. And while it’s coming sooner than we thought, it’s not coming soon enough. Let me explain.

The M5 is expected to debut with new MacBook Pro models, rather than the iPad Pro. When it comes to revolutions in technology, few have been as marked as when Apple made the switch to in-house silicon.

So, while the M5 chip is now anticipated to find its way into the MacBook Pro before the iPad Pro, don’t be surprised if it’s more of an incremental refresh than anything else
