Australia’s rivalry with India turned physical as Virat Kohli collided with 19-year-old Australia batter Sam Konstas on the opening morning of the fourth test.

In-form Australian batter Travis Head will be fit for the fourth test and India are considering restoring captain Rohit Sharma to the opener's slot for the match starting in Melbourne on Thursday. Head is the leading run scorer in the five-test series but the left-hander suffered a quad strain in Brisbane.

Australia captain Pat Cummins won the toss Thursday and decided to bat first against India in expected hot conditions at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in the fourth test of the five-match series. Australia made two changes to the side which dominated the drawn test in Brisbane.
