Warner Bros. has dominated at the box office in April as “ A Minecraft Movie ” and “ Sinners ” continue to shatter expectations.

When a movie has its second weekend at the box office, the baseline expectation is that ticket sales will drop about 50 percent. If it has particularly strong hype going for it, that drop may be closer to 40 percent,

The weekend box office is on fire, with ticket sales up more than 100 percent over the same frame last year. The blaze is led by Warner Bros.' Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B.
