"The Los Angeles Lakers are trading Dalton Knecht, Cam Reddish, a 2031 unprotected first-round pick and a 2030 pick swap to the Charlotte Hornets for center Mark Williams, sources tell ESPN," Shams Charania of ESPN announced last week.

Knecht, 22, was set to be traded to the Hornets at the deadline for center Mark Williams, as the Lakers hoped to land a lob-threat big man to fit the roster's new outlook. However, the trade was rescinded due to "a failure to satisfy a condition of the trade," according to an official report released by the Lakers.

The Charlotte Hornets are not sitting idly after the Los Angeles Lakers nixed the deadline deal between the two teams. The Lakers and Hornets initially agreed to a trade to send center Mark Williams to Los Angeles.
