Hours before a massive wall of floodwater barreled down a river in the heart of Texas Hill Country before sunrise on Friday, forecasters with the National Weather Service warned people that dangerous conditions were brewing.

The death toll after catastrophic flash flooding hit Texas Hill Country Friday has risen to 59, Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick told Fox News Sunday. "We expect that to go higher sadly," Patrick said.

At least 15 children are among the bodies recovered so far, according to county officials responding to the natural disaster.
