Governor Kathy Hochul shared her condolences to the family of an 18-year-old New York State Parks employee after he died responding to a wildfire downstate.

In a statement Sunday, Hochul also acknowledged the death of Dariel Vasquez, an 18-year-old State Parks and Recreation aide killed battling a wildfire in Sterling Forest in Greenwood Lake, New York.
