NASCAR star Kyle Larson has started this year on a hot streak and will try to keep it going in Sunday's Daytona 500 on FOX.

The Daytona Duels on Thursday evening brought carnage for the NASCAR Cup Series, and now there’s a bevy of drivers who will be dropping to the rear due to having to go to a backup car for Sunday’s race.

Kyle Larson’s early-season run continued Friday, but not on dirt or asphalt. This win came on the water. Led by Larson’s oldest son, Owen, Team Larson won the annual Hot Rods & Reels charity fishing tournament in Lake Lloyd inside the Daytona International Speedway infield.

A Daytona Duel big one ended the second duels race Thursday. It involved aNASCAR Cup Series champion and a highly touted rookie. Coming to the checkered flag in the second qualifying race, rookie Shane van Gisbergen tried to make a move to the outside and was not clear of Christopher Bell.
