Jan. 31, the Metro Richmond Zoo announced that it has welcomed a baby giraffe named Clover, which was born on Nov. 21, 2024.

There are more than 60 cases of bird flu in humans across the United States. In the Commonwealth, two birds at the Metro Richmond Zoo caught the virus.

Asian small-clawed otters named Jilin and Elbe can be found in the "Asia: Trail Of The Tiger" section of the zoo, along with the white-cheeked gibbons.
