A storm moving in for Friday and the weekend will bring wind and snow for a lot of the state, but the mountains could really see the snow pile up.

A significant winter storm will bring snow, ice, and travel hazards across Arkansas starting Thursday, with impacts lasting through Friday perhaps lingering into the weekend even after the storm has ended. Much of Missouri is under a hazardous weather outlook and state authorities have urged the public to avoid driving in icy and snowy conditions.

A low-pressure system is moving across the country, delivering rain, snow, and ice to much of the southeast. This same system will be making its way along the east coast early this weekend, bringing a chance for accumulating snow to the tri-state.

Freezing rain and snow was forecasted to move into the southern U.S. Wednesday, setting up days of bad weather from Texas to the U.S. East Coast.

A winter storm could impact the Charlotte metro for the first time in nearly three years. The last time it snowed in Greenville was in 2022. Brutal cold will open the door for a winter storm to take a somewhat unusual track through the South and create treacherous travel conditions.
