President Donald announced a 50% tariff on steel made outside the United States as he touted a partnership between Japan's Nippon Steel Corporation and the United States Steel Corporation during a rally near Pittsburgh.

President Donald Trump said on Friday that he is doubling his steel tariff on steel to 50 percent, from 25 percent currently, to prevent billions of dollars worth of foreign steel from continuing to enter the United States.

Ending the program may upend the lives of migrants who settled across the country — from Florida to California — and embedded themselves into U.S. communities.

The administration can now cancel a Biden-era humanitarian program that allowed immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela to live and work in the US legally.
