Oct 26, 2018 · Looks like the power cord plug changed with the new revision I pre-ordered the PS4 Pro + RDR2 bundle and noticed that the power cord plug is now the same as with the regular PS4. I was a bit surprised and disappointed when I ordered it that it came with a different power socket but that's not an issue anymore.

Aug 3, 2021 · I've also never heard of fake PS4 Pro's, or at least commonly, so that'd be weird. Anyways, look into redoing the thermal paste AND the thermal pads. Does wonders for the PS4 Pro to give it a good cleaning. If it's hotter to the touch on top afterwards, you've done it correctly because it means it's moving more heat out.

True true. I was already thinking how that’s going to be a pain with mine but I might do it prior and then all I’ll have to do is plug in the power cord. I already sold my PS4 but the HDMI is still ran to the spot.

Dec 10, 2020 · If it's a Pro (70xx or 71xx) you're talking about you can use either the 2 prong C17 or 3 prong C13 cable. The cables are identically rated, the only difference is the 3rd prong which is an earth connection, which the Pro doesn't use anyway.

Mar 18, 2023 · The 3rd pin is ground. PS4 Pro doesn't use a ground pin. But you can use a 3 pin cable. They do come in different power ratings though. If you use one from a computer, it will work. If you use one from a cheap Chinese toy with low power requirement, it may melt.

Now I use it as an extra, but I’m here making sure there is nothing wrong w/ insignia power cords themselves because my PS4 pro console has bricked twice in the span of 3-4 years due to the power cable.
