Marvel's Jessica Jones is an American television series created by Melissa Rosenberg for the streaming service Netflix, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.

Jessica Campbell Jones is a private investigator from New York City. After becoming orphaned at a young age, Jones was taken in by Dorothy Walker and developed a deep friendship bond with her adoptive sister, Trish Walker.

While Jessica Jones' first appearance came in Alias #1, her history was later retconned in Amazing Spider-Man #601 to make her one of Peter Parker's high school classmates appearing as early as Amazing Spider-Man #4, where she was in the crowd encouraging the fight between Sandman and Spider-Man.

Ever since her short-lived stint as a superhero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic private detective in Hell's Kitchen, New York City.

Jessica Jones debuted in October 2016, published as a tie-in with the self-titled television series. She became a member of the New Avengers, alongside her husband Luke Cage during Marvel's 2010 Heroic Age campaign.
