I am guessing your brother's prepaid service with T-Mobile is currently tied to a different phone? If that is the case, that may explain the current problem. Nov 1, 2015 · Your problem may be that your mother cannot use your T-Mobile phone on Verizon. If your T-Mobile iPhone is not unlocked she won't be able to use it. Secondly, and this is less of a problem because she already has an active Verizon SIM, Verizon will not activate any iPhone that was not originally intended for their network - unlocked or not.

Apr 10, 2014 · I haven't tried it on an ipad that originally had an ATT SIM in it, but I could with one that originally had a T-mobile SIM. I've also been able to activate a T-mobile SIM in what originally was a Verizon ipad. I have also run into the "could not activate" message, and that was easily overcome by restarting the ipad with the new SIM in it.
