Have you tried pre-teaching vocabulary before reading aloud? When I define key words from a picture book before we start reading, students make deeper connections and understand the story so much better. Here's a simple way to try it: Choose 3-5 important words, define them with your students, and create a simple motion or gesture for each one. Then, as you read, pause at those words and have students do the motion—it reinforces the meaning while keeping them engaged! 🙌 Will you give this a try
